"Buy this print".....

Thu Jul 23, 2009, 6:18 PM
After a coktail or two, and sitting here browsing the artwork on this site, I realized something. It was really more of an awareness of something I have always subconciously known.

But, we ALL have this little link in the browsing menu of our uploaded deviations. We ALL have the option to create a "print" and make it available for purchase.
Tonight I actually gave it a deeper thought and realized what I do, & why I do it.

ALL of my deviations are available for free download..... and at FULL size. And I almost always opt to make available for purchase.
BUT WHY?

I mean, every photo I add to my gallery can be had for no cost. (And I'm cool with that. That's why I set them for full size downloads).
So why do I bother setting them up with the ability to pay for a print?

That made me think.... and made me laugh!
:)

I realized that, at the moment I'm not concerned about the "money". That's not the reason I started modeling.

And yet, at the same time, I wonder if anyone would actually BUY a "print"? Whether they could get it for free or not..... would someone ever purchase one?

Who knows? Who cares?
:)

This was just a random thought I had, and decided it would become a journal entry...... And so it has.

**ALL of my uploaded photos are pictures OF ME, and most of them were self shot.**

I'm an Art Model, and just beginning to experiment with TAKING photos. I've always had an eye for picking visually interesting things... but never knew how to "make them happen".... So it's time to learn how.

I'm sharing my work from the "MODELING" standpoint, not really as a "photographer"... at least not yet. Hahaha!

I'd also love to pose for more artists/photographers, or to help other people find some new ideas & themes for their portfolio. So, if you're ever in my area and you want to shoot some pics, drop me a message!

People always talk about "Thinking outside the box"..... Yeah Yeah.... whatever.
I say, "MAKE A NEW BOX!"

Right on!
That whole scene & pose........ it just came together at the right time. (And YOU happened to be there to catch it!)

Great work!!

:)

I enjoy your modelling work dude. keep it up. you posses assets that make you an excellent model and artistic muse, and your pictures provide good anatomical reference of the gifted male nude. :-D
:iconnashfiguremodel:
Thanks!
I appreciate that!

The photography genre is a little new to me, but it was really fun.
Different than a "live class/workshop", because I had to come up with more poses & ideas than I would in the class setting.

BUT, I didn't have to hold the poses for any length of time.
:)

I really enjoy modeling for BOTH types, but the photoshoot was invigorating in that "new experience / expressive" sort of way.

I have recently begun some sketches of nudes to work on my understanding of anatomy and I must say, male nudes are difficult to come by. Thanks for the posts. If I draw/paint one of your photos, I'll make sure to provide a link.

Cool!
Sounds good. I'd love to see a sketch if you do one.
Thanks for the comment too.

I just started life modelling in February this year, and I have to say, your poses are amazing! So diverse and interesting. I'm completely envious of you!

Aweeee... Thanks!!
:)

I appreciate the compliment.
Some days are more creative than others though. LOL!
:iconrarn-barn:
Haha, I agree. Some days you just get this burst of creativity and other days you mentally pull out your old hat of tricks. Well, at least I do :P

Exactly!
But sometimes my hat is dirty, or empty, or doesn't fit, or something crazy!!
LOL!

Then I have to borrow someone else's hat.
